Résumé Bien qu’ils déclarent de longue date s’intéresser aux savoirs ordinaires, les chercheurs en sciences sociales manifestent une étrange prédilection pour l’étude des phénomènes extraordinaires, sur lesquels ils s’instruisent auprès d’informateurs exceptionnels. The following contribution, drawing on examples from social anthropology, history and science studies, proposes a series of reflections on the causes of this state of affairs, and on its consequences for our understanding of ordinary knowledge.
